I have always loved country music and its narrative ability to capture universal truths in its specific stories.
​
As a professor, I often used country lyrics as examples of everything psychology research says matters: the right level of grit, habits, social connection, a sense of purpose, self-awareness, taking time for mental health, gratitude, commitment, and work-life balance.​
​​
In this EP, I sought to write original lyrics to examine elements of life in the playful and profound genre of country while writing the types of coutnry lyrics that have inspired me, with added inspirations from my perspectives and the research I've done as a psychological scientist.​​​​​​​
