About Lyrics About

Lyrics about are lyrics written intentionally about an idea with the goal to first capture an idea.
The form is ​​inspired by how scientists isolate and capture ideas in precise experiments and by how artists can do the same with lyrics.

This scientific mind, artistic heart approach leverages the unique powers of lyrics to help anyone (artists, creatives, leaders, students, teams, strategists) discover, capture, and share ideas that can guide future actions and/or produce powerful drafts for later polished art.​​​​
​
I was a prose and poetry major before before I became a science PhD studying psychology and design. This approach is fusion of both.

Putting Feelings Into Words​​

I am a psychological scientist and a lyricist which are two very very different things but . . .
Both of these endeavors have a very similar goal: put into words things that people feel.​​​​​ The psychological scientist does this with scientific theories and explicit, precise language. The lyricist does this with inspired abstractions and emotive language.
​
When done right, they can make us realize things we’ve always felt but never had the words for, about our dreams, our feelings, our fears, our futures, our pasts, our cultures, our realities, and everything that really matters.

I bring a unique "scientific mind, artistic heart" approach to compliment the best creatives. ​ I am a UC Irvine arts scholar, a Duke psychological science PhD, influential academic researcher of happiness, memory, identity, narrative, and empathy, a former Oregon marketing professor, a former Walt Disney Imagineer, and the chief scientist at the creative firm On Your Feet and founder at Hiduke House.
